How do you track brand deal deliverables and deadlines?
List every promised item separately, with its submission date, publication date, and approval requirement. Keep the checklist beside the agreement and update it when work is submitted, feedback arrives, or a change is agreed.

Why it happens
A campaign can contain several kinds of deadlines. Sending a draft is not the same as getting approval, and approval is not the same as publication. A single campaign-level due date can hide those differences, particularly when several partnerships are moving at once.
In StarlightIQ’s 2026 Creator Brand Deal Research, a survey of 154 creators who completed 5+ paid brand deals in the past 12 months, 26% said they had lost track of contract terms or deliverables.
Fielded online October 5–6, 2026 through a paid, opt-in research panel. The final sample of 154 passed attention checks and duplicate-response screening. Responses and eligibility were self-reported, not independently verified; results are not weighted to represent all creators. The survey did not measure StarlightIQ’s effect on payments or time spent.
Build a deliverables checklist you can maintain
- Read the scope line by line. Create a separate entry for each promised item or clearly defined set. Include the format, quantity, required talking points, and any agreed supporting material. Refer back to the contract instead of relying only on the original campaign brief.
- Give each milestone a date. Distinguish draft submission, feedback, revisions, and publication wherever the agreement does. Add your own preparation dates separately so an internal target cannot be mistaken for a deadline the brand has approved.
- Define simple statuses. Use labels such as planned, submitted, revision requested, approved, and published. Record when a status changed and keep the relevant response available. Treat silence as unanswered feedback, rather than assuming that an approval has arrived.
- Review upcoming work regularly. Check dependencies as well as dates: an item may be waiting for product delivery, a brief, or feedback. Ask the relevant contact about a blocker and preserve any agreed change before updating the working schedule.
Handle revisions without losing the original scope
Keep the original deliverable description and add a record of the requested revision. Compare it with the agreed revision process, then confirm any change in scope or timing in writing. This gives you a clear explanation of what changed and avoids leaving an outdated deadline in your checklist.
Close the loop after publication
Record the publication link and date, and keep any required evidence of completion. Check whether a recap or another follow-up is part of the deliverable list. Mark each obligation complete individually rather than closing the entire campaign as soon as the first piece of content is published.
Example (illustrative)
Priya lists two posts and one story set as three separate obligations. The first post is approved while the second needs a revision. Her checklist shows the different statuses, the next submission date, and the story set’s publication deadline, so a single campaign label does not hide unfinished work.
