The bigger picture

A signed deal is only part of the picture.

An invoice, a contract, and a payment confirmation can each tell a different part of the story. If you only look at the total deal value, a missing installment may be hard to spot. A useful payment record connects the amount to its due date and current status.

In StarlightIQ’s 2026 Creator Brand Deal Research, a survey of 154 creators who completed 5+ paid brand deals in the past 12 months, 59% said a brand paid them late in the past 12 months.

Fielded online October 5–6, 2026 through a paid, opt-in research panel. The final sample of 154 passed attention checks and duplicate-response screening. Responses and eligibility were self-reported, not independently verified; results are not weighted to represent all creators. The survey did not measure StarlightIQ’s effect on payments or time spent.

From agreement to action

How payment tracking works

  1. 01

    Add the deal

Upload the contract or enter the agreement manually. Keep the payment schedule connected to the partnership so you can check the terms behind an outstanding amount.

  2. 02

    Review the payment terms

Check extracted amounts, dates, and conditions against the agreement. If payment depends on an invoice or approval, confirm the relevant event before relying on a due date.

  3. 03

    Keep the payment record current

Record payments as they arrive and review outstanding items. A tracker is only as accurate as the details entered, so check the amount received before marking an obligation paid.

  4. 04

    Review the overview

Compare contracted, collected, outstanding, and overdue amounts. Open the relevant record to understand what is missing before deciding how to follow up with the brand.

What you get

A clearer view of what’s owed.

  • One view of recorded payments

Review what has been collected and what remains outstanding across your brand deals, with the agreement available for context.

  • Overdue visibility

Identify recorded payments whose due dates have passed so you can check the invoice and prepare a specific follow-up.

  • Payment details by deal

Keep amounts, dates, and payment status with the partnership they belong to, instead of reconstructing the schedule from separate messages.

Turn a status into a clear next step

Before contacting a brand, compare the tracker with your payment records and the invoice you sent. Confirm the billing contact, the outstanding amount, and any response already received. StarlightIQ helps you see the recorded position; you decide when to contact the brand and what to say.
